Last Thursday, the shaman visited us in Pakahska-Sacha.
For a shaman, unlike our medical practitioners, it’s not just about physical ailments; it’s about the whole. The environment, fellow residents, the spirits of the forest, the soul, and the body are all causes of ill health and physical ailments.
The reason for this ritual was my lung problems.
As always, the shaman came to the house by invitation. Before the actual ceremony, they cook and eat together.
The actual ritual began slowly. Everyone sits together in the chosa (indigenous house) around the open fire. At some point, the shaman decides to take ahyuaska to expand their spirit and thereby find the causes of the disharmonies and neutralize them accordingly.
The rainforest with its sounds, the open fire, the presence, and the silence, all flow together and create a pleasant, powerful, yet completely relaxed atmosphere. There’s a lot of silence.
At some point, the shaman begins the ritual. The first act was the cleansing of the house and the surrounding area. Afterward, the shaman cleansed individuals with a leaf brush and then treated them. The ceremony lasted until late into the night.
Everything was very fascinating and difficult to describe.
Although I’m always a bit skeptical about the whole thing, the results were absolutely convincing. After the ceremony, we all retired to our bedrooms. A deep relaxation set in. For the first time in a long time, I was able to sleep completely through the night and wake up feeling relaxed.
For the following days, I was instructed to rest and only shower after 24 hours.

Each time, a journey into the subconscious, a wonderful experience.
